Choir needs

Minimum 12 women
A contact person

We request that the presenter help us find and connect with a women's local choir. This should ideally take place no less than one month before performance. We need to get in contact with the choir director to start the selection of songs for the performance.

We ask the choir for 6-8 songs from their repertoire that they can sing acapella (without accompaniment). We choose 4 songs from that repertoire.

We need one 3 hour rehearsal with the choir in the performance space

The choir needs to show up 2,5 hours before the performance on the day; we do a quick walk through and get ready.

The choir needs to bring:
-Swimsuit
-Robe or towel
-Red lipstick
-Summer dress
-Slippers (optional)

After the performance we toast with the choirmembers to celebrate the performance and give them a chance to reflect on the experience.

Fee: As stated, we suggest a symbolic fee for the choir around 350 EUR, for each performance. But that is for the organizers to negotiate.

Additional information: The performance ends with us jumping into the pool with the choir. We want to stress that it is NOT MANDATORY for the choir members to jump in. We offer it to them but each choir member decides for themselves.

Venue

A swimming pool preferably or another local place where women go for leisure and rest.

The performance is a journey through the building/site. In the case of a swimming pool we often start in the foyer or outside in front of the building, then travel to the changing rooms and showers and end in the pool area. The changing room is often the smallest part of the space and we need to fit all the audience together inside there for some time. So the size of the  space decides the capacity of the audience. It can be crowded as it is not a very long time.

The performance needs to happen outside of opening hours if it’s a public pool.

Schedule/ Plan

Day 1: Travel day

Day 2: Rehearsal day

2-3 hours in the swimming pool/performance venue to map out the performance in the new space.

3 hours rehearsal with the choir in the  swimming pool/performance venue (without other guests preferably).

We need time to get to a supermarket to buy things for the show as it starts as a welcome party with waffles and coffee. (We bring our own waffle makers).

Day 3: Performance day, we need the venue preferably 4 hours before the show.

Set up all technical things such as the pink light and smoke machine.

Set up all the spaces.

Quick walk through with the choir. (Choir arriving 2,5 hours before the performance. (If there is a second performance on another day it is enough for the choir to arrive 1 hour before.)

Day 4: Travel day
